Fifty-Five Fathers

In the book Fifty-Five Fathers by Selma R. Williams, you'll learn the story of the Constitutional Convention- how the U.S. Founding Fathers decided to get rid of the failing Articles of Confederation and create the Constitution. They had to agree and make compromises, come up with new ideas, and get through alot of arguing and unacceptable ideas to make what they thought would be the greatest government ever. The book is exciting for a history book and has some great information in it, it even includes the whole constitution and small bios on the 55 delegates at the convention, as well as an index at the end. It's an enjoyable read, though not an adventure, and will introduce great characters such as James Madison, George Washington, and Benjamin Franklin, and the lesser known delegates such as Gouverner Morris and Nathanial Gorham. I think that if you want to learn about the Constitutional Convention, then this is the book for you!
