Effective Taekwon-Do Sparring
Effective Taekwon-Do Sparring by Master Jim Hogan and James Home is a guidebook that helps the martial artist learn how to spar in competition effectively. This book is geared towards students with beginner to intermidiate sparring levels of ITF Taekwon-Do, but martial artists who spar simmilar to the ITF can also read this book, and I reccommend advanced fighters to read this book as well. It is full of great techniques to use in sparring, great combinations, great set-ups and more. It also offers a type of gaurd and sparring stance that was created by the author, made specifically for competition sparring. I am not sure if I agree with the garud and stance, but I think it is still worth trying. This book also offers foot movements and counter attacks helpful in sparring. This book is a great read for any ITF martial artist! For example, a great footwork and punch idea from the book is The Blitz- a certain way to pull your foot in, fall forwards into two steps, and do a middle section reverse punch on the last step. Don't miss out on this one-of-a-kind book!
